1, 2, 3 ... 3, 2, 1

I watched 3 new shows on TV this week that held promise of being watchable. Sort of. Well, some of them did. Maybe.

The Good Wife was a rerun so I tried The Forgotten on Tuesday night. It's about a team of amateur detectives but I'm not sure what the premise of the show is. I don't know who 'the forgotten' are. Or if I did know I forgot. The titles for all the episodes have John or Jane in them and I think that refers to John Doe and Jane Doe. So I guess this team is trying to find the real identities of a new Mr. or Ms. Doe every week. Not a bad premise for a show. I may watch it again, but I heard that ABC ordered a limited number of episodes so maybe not.

I've seen two episodes of The Human Target on FOX. The Human Target is a quirky bodyguard and security episode. Not as quirky as one of his co-workers, but enough that it could either be interesting or annoying as the series evolves. One point in their favor, the third guy on the show is not quirky or weird or overly anything so he tends to balance out the other two. This show has promise, but this last episode was a little far-fetched. The Human Target had to fly the plane upside down and it got stuck that way till he could figure out a way to get it right-side-up again. But that wasn't the really absurd part. What was unbelievable was the number of empty seats on the plane. When's the last time you took a flight anywhere that had every other seat unoccupied?

The Deep End wasn't all that good. Just another show on ABC's Thursday line up about a bunch of young white collar professionals working at the same office. And not very lovable people at that. Or very bright. Or very nice. But horney? Yes, of course. Just like every other lawyer and doctor show on TV the last few years.
